  1. The temp Guage is way off ..say 67 degrees when it’s more like 77 how can I adjust it

    1. Hi,

I think the issues is from the sending unit. It is a sensor that measures the temperature of the engine coolant and sends a signal to the gauge. Here are the steps on how to adjust the sending unit to correct a temperature gauge:
      1. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
      2. Locate the sending unit. It is usually located in the engine block or radiator.
      3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sending unit.
      4. Use a multimeter to measure the resistance of the sending unit. The resistance should be within the specifications listed in your car’s owner’s manual.
      5. If the resistance is not within specifications, adjust the sending unit until it is within specifications.
      6. Reconnect the electrical connector to the sending unit.
      7. Start the engine and check the temperature gauge. It should now read the correct temperature.
If you are not comfortable adjusting the sending unit yourself, you can take your car to a mechanic. They will be able to adjust the sending unit for you.
